Yet again.

Looks like Andy Cohen will let the botox fly on the Real Housewives of Orange County Season 8 reunion, set to air in three parts on Bravo TV Monday.

The Tamra Barney/Gretchen Rossi détente has ended, as predicted, as Tamra refuses to cover Gretchen’s lies about her relationship with Jay Photoglou when she was supposedly engaged to Jeff Beitzel.

Gretchen was seen by all the RH’s during Season 4 as her storyline was her dying fiance, yet she was cavorting and canoodling with Jay, who thought they had a real relationship and he would soon be on TV. After Tamra outed the relationship at the Season 4 reunion, Gretchen dumped Jay and took up with Slade Smiley, friend and ex-neighbor of original RHOC creator Scott Dunlop. This caused years of litigation, porn pics of Gretchen published by Nik Ritchie on theDirty, with Gretchen finally winning a $500,000 judgment against Jay.

Of course, pathological liar Gretchen uses this as proof that Jay was a lying stalker. Yes, Gretchen everyone now believes you……and your tearless crying.

Other highlights from the “First Look”.  Turns out Vicki and Donn Gunvalson are not divorced, he, however, is quoted as saying “he wouldn’t get back with Vicki if monkeys flew out of his ass” or something like that.  Donn is fighting for spousal support, so the divorce proceedings are at a standstill. Vicki sure knows how to create problems for herself, doesn’t she? Her biggest problem right now being that psychopath son-in-law of hers, Ryan Culberson.

At some point during the reunion, Lauri Waring Peterson sits down……we can only hope that one of the women ask her where Josh’s daughter is. Josh Waring and his wife gave birth to a drug-addicted child last December who went into withdrawal soon after Lauri tweeted about the birth. The child has been a ward of the State of California ever since. Lauri did not take in her grandchild.

If not, then how about the email sent to Vicki and spread to Jeana Keough from George Peterson’s ex Mother-In-Law ?

Gretchen Rossi’s “house of cards” has been tumbling this season  like a snowball down a hill. Now it’s more like an avalanche, as her lies and subterfuges become more and more apparent.

Lady Burd Cosmetics, the branding company Gretchen uses for private labeling for her GretchenChristine.com cosmetics line, reportedly will no longer send her any stock, because her profits are filtered through Slade Smiley’s Paypal account. Scandalous!  Someone must have complained.

This is old news, they have been using this subterfuge to give Slade money so Michelle Arroyo, the mother of Grayson Smiley, his young son with terminal cancer, couldn’t come after him for support.

Business Partner Sues Gretchen/Slade

In the meantime, reports coming from the Season 8 reunion, taped July 10, imply that not only was Vicki Gunvalson on the hotseat, but so was Gretchen. It may be true, because Slade Smiley, who has always been nasty on twitter, has been in rare form lately:

For those who don’t know the story, Gretchen moved Slade into her Costa Mesa home shortly after the Season 4 reunion, when Tamra outted her relationship with Jay.  Problem?  Jay still had his belongings in the house, and after many angry exchanges, Jay posted all those nasty pictures of Gretchen on the ‘net.

At the reunion, she apparently attempted to prove she really did graduate from Baylor University, since it’s so difficult to believe she’s a college graduate. A poster on TWOP says it best:

If Gretchen really did graduate from Baylor with a bachelor's degree in Psychology and will be displaying her diploma at the reunion, I'll be shocked. Baylor is a fairly conservative Baptist university, and the current annual tuition is about $30k. It hardly seems like a good fit for old Gretchen Christine. Did Jeff pay her tuition!

And since she couldn't even articulate that she meant that Vickie was projecting not personifying her feelings, I would imagine the Psychology department wants to erase all evidence that she was ever there.

For real.

As I read through Slade Smiley’s recent tweets, I became curious about The Beckstrand Organization the cancer charity Slade and Gretchen work with.  Grayson Smiley has his own foundation, amazinggray.org. Gretchen and Slade seem to have nothing to do with that. As a matter of fact, Slade once had a Grayson website, but he took it down.

Of course, the Beckstrand Organization has highly publicized events, with plenty of glitz and glam….. could that be it?

Lydia McLaughlin Steps Into A Pile of Slade

And comes out smelling like a rose.

“A more cohesive alignment with reality”  Seems newcomer Lydia Stirling McLaughlin actually went to school and learned, unlike the other “Real Housewives” living in the Orange Bubble.

Lydia, from Newfoundland, where the Stirling family practically owns the media, is able to balance shit stirring in such a way that it never offends her castmates…so far.

Lydia’s bone structure is that of a naturally thin person, but Slimy Slade Smiley just couldn’t help commenting on her looks.  What a piece of shit he is!!!  Thanks for the edit, Bravo!

He loudly whispered to girlfriend Gretchen Rossi that he should call her cheeseburger, because she looked like she needed a cheeseburger. It was the way he said it - snarky, hateful, slimy, the usual Slade - and that he said it just loud enough for her to hear and feel excluded and belittled.

But not Lydia. She confronted him on what he said… and boom! Did you see the look on Slimy douchebag’s face?  Slade is never called on his shit, there is no accountability for his actions. And Gretchen sounded like an utter fool as she tried to defend him.  When Lydia said, “ I see who you are” Slade was so taken aback.

She says on her Bravo blog:

It's not what Slade said that upset me so much. It is his history of putting down other women's appearances publicly. Last year he called Tamra too fat and he's made fun of Vicki'snose. Now he's going after me at my own party!?! Who died and made him the appearance police? It's just not OK, which is why I called him out on it. And, for Gretchen to say I'm making a big deal out of nothing just showed me how insensitive she is. Maybe love is blind, but I can't image my husband Doug ever acting like that. Men should be lifting woman up -- not critiquing our appearance.

Lydia did her homework before she joined this show.  And mama Judy?  What a bonus!  So good to see someone not fitting the Orange County mold.

Lydia, 31, was Andy Cohen’s guest last night on Watch What Happens, Live!. Her mother Judy Stirling was the bartender, but she didn’t bring her ganja with her, LOL.

Don’t you love it?

Lydia may be around for awhile, Andy seemed to like her.  Woo to the Hoo!

Slade Smiley is Still A Real Housewife

 

In Part 1 of the Slade Smiley story, I left off where Tamra Barney outted Gretchen Rossi's relationship with Jay Photoglou at the Season 4 reunion.  Well, needless to say, that relationship did not end well.

Two weeks after the Season 4 reunion aired, Jay went to Gretchen's house to remove his belongings. He was refused admittance, but Slade's car was there. ( Gretchen works fast)  Jay called the Costa Mesa Police Department to have them assist him in obtaining entrance to Gretchen's home. The police ran Slade's license plate and bingo! Not only was he driving illegally, but he owed so much in child support that he was arrested immediately!

None of this stopped Slade's determination to return to the show! After the reunion, Tamra and Gretchen went to war, and Jay brought defamation  lawsuit after lawsuit against Gretchen.

So who shows up for Season 5 playing Gretchen Rossi's new love? You guessed it.  I don't know if this is because of Scott Dunlop, the executive producer of RHOC, his old friend from his Coto de Caza days, or because Gretchen needed a storyline.  Whatever the reason, ol' slimey Slade has been a regular ever since.

Until recently, he acted mostly as Gretchen's pimp manager, following her around to personal appearances etc., Now he has a one day a week job as some sort of radio personality at a Los Angeles station. Hopefully, he's paying some of the child support owed to his terminally ill son Grayson's mother, Michelle Arroyo.

He's become an anachronism in his own lifetime, with even Bravo TV dubbing him an "honorary housewife".

Of course, he and Gretchen will have the same old tired storyline, about marriage and babies, ignoring the fact that he had a vasectomy years ago. That perhaps being the smartest thing he ever did.

It's hard out here for a pimp, correct?

The Gretchen Rossi / Tamra Barney No Longer BFFs

We knew it wouldn't last. Many regarded the "detente" between Gretchen Rossi and Tamra Barney during Season 7 of the Real Housewives of Orange County as fake, done for the good of their storylines, and used as a vehicle to attack Alexis Bellino.

The truce was of more benefit to Gretchen,  in an attempt to get Tamra to STFU about her life with Jeff Beitzel and Jay Photoglou, not to mention the phony hook-up with Slade Smiley.

Tamra allegedly slammed Gretchen's character and her singing ability to a local Orange County blogger.   This is Gretchen's reply:

 

“I was surprised to hear she questioned the friendship she has with me. Her and I talk often and I certainly did not know she felt this way, however I’m not naive to the fact that we had some hiccups this season as all friendships do. I think I have realized with her that when you call her out about things she goes on the attack and lashes back at you. This season she was texting me one thing about a situation, but on camera displaying another. I’m just a straight shooter, I don’t talk out both ends of my mouth. So I asked her on camera what the deal was and how come she was texting me one thing but doing another, needless to say that didn’t go over very well and things got a little weird with us for a minute, but I thought we worked through it and were back on good terms. Perfect example is this interview with you guys, when I asked her about it she texted me it was all BS and you guys completed manipulated the story, but then you guys said you have voice recordings of her saying this about me, so as anyone would feel, sometimes it’s hard to know what the truth is. However as a friend I want to give her the benefit, so I have to believe her.             source

Jay Photoglou Loses to Gretchen Rossi, Demands Re-Trial

In case you missed it….

In the seemingly never ending saga of Jay Photoglou versus Gretchen Rossi, Photoglou, whose picture should be in the dictionary under the word persistence, just lost a round in court when he attempted to revive the defamation lawsuit against Rossi.

Gretchen, of the Real Housewives of Orange County, was having an affair with Photoglou when her storyline was her engagement to Jeff Beitzel, who passed away in September, 2009. At the explosive Season 4 reunion, Tamra Barney called her out on the affair, and Gretchen dumped Photoglou immediately and took up with Slade Smiley, who was only too happy to get back on the series.

After years of accusations back and forth, Gretchen won the case, to the tune of $500,000 last November.

Jay, in his latest court action, tried to have the judgment thrown out, asserting the jury was "star struck" by Gretchen, and he's just a lowly used car salesman.

The judge tossed the petition…and Photoglou, out,upholding the jury verdict.

Four years after the Real Housewives of Orange County Season 4 reunion, when the shit hit the proverbial fan between Jay and Gretchen, the years of litigation between the two of them may finally be over.

In a storyline that could have been right out of her Bravo reality show, Rossi sued her ex-lover in 2010, claiming defamation and assault, battery, stalking and breach of contract. A judge later threw out the defamation claim, but let the others proceed.

At one point Photoglou countersued, claiming defamation and Rossi ended up having to pay him $40,000 for his legal fees.

Never go to RadarOnline seeking truth, but the stories take the pulse of the most recent RH publicity stunts.

Interesting this story came out the day after the season 7 reunion of the Real Housewives of Orange County was filmed.  Give us a hint at what happened there.  Did the other ladies have a go at Gretchen Rossi for continuing to support Slade?  Andy Cohen claimed he was “attacked” at the reunion on twitter yesterday, was it about paying Slade Smiley  in Gretchen’s name so Slade doesn’t have to declare income to the courts, seeking back child support for 11 year old Grayson Smiley, his child with brain cancer?

Or is Bravo threatening to get rid of Gretchen if she doesn’t come up with a better storyline? This season, between the PussyCat Dolls torture and the “my man ain’t got not job” story, Gretchen had nada.

Of course, there’s always the Jay Photoglou true storyline, with them constantly back and forth in court, this time possibly involving her cast mates:

Second Update 428/12:  Alexis Bellino has been called in by Jay Photoflood's attorneys to give a deposition in the case.

If you recall, Gretchen and Jay went boating with the Belino’s in 2008, shortly after Jeff Beitzel’s death, before Alexis was cast on the Real Housewives of Orange County.  Jay released a photograph of them, together on the boat.

Can you imagine Alexis lying to cover up for Gretchen? I can’t either.

Think Judge Gregory Munoz is sick and tired?  After her last loss to Jay Photoglou, Gretchen Rossi of the Real Housewives of Orange County tried to have the judge disqualified.

That worked out well, don’t you think?

Today in court:

The motion by plaintiff Gretchen Rossi for a protective order is granted in part and denied in part. The motion is granted with respect to information gained by either party through the use of all of the discovery processes regarding the following topics: (1) the sexual history of either party; (2) either party’s financial information, including income and expense information, bank account numbers, Social Security numbers, taxpayer identification numbers, and tax returns; (3) either party’s home and cellular telephone numbers; and (4) the home address of either party.

Plaintiff, defendant, their attorneys, and others acting on their behalf, shall not make use of and shall not disseminate the information defined above which is gained through discovery, other than such use as is necessary in order for the discovering party to prepare and try the case. Information regarding the above information gained through the discovery process may not be published by plaintiff, defendant, their attorneys, or anyone acting on their behalf, or made available to any news media for publication or dissemination, absent further court order. This protective order has no application except to information gained by either party through the use of the discovery processes.

The remainder of the motion is denied. Defendant’s request for judicial notice is granted, in that the court takes judicial notice of the fact that the document was filed only. Plaintiff’s objection to defendant’s request for judicial notice is overruled. Plaintiff’s objection to defendant’s Ex. 8 is sustained on grounds of lack of foundation and hearsay. In other words, Gretchen is unable to keep Jay from talking about her relationship with Jeff Beitzel, the engagement ring, or any other relevant information.

Peggy Tanous Serves; Gretchen Rossi Gets Served on the Real Housewives of Orange County.

Gretchen Rossi had been avoiding service from Jay Photoglou’s attorneys for a while, so it was done publicly, in front of  Bravo cameras. A source told absurd2sublime exclusively that this scene  didn’t  make the final cut because all references to Gretchen and her relationship with Jay, her lover while she was the fiancé of Jeff Beitzel , have been edited out. There are other lawsuits pending between the two, and Jay was recently rewarded $40,000 in the latest judgment.

The suit was filed by her ex boyfriend Jay Photoglou ,a source familiar with the situation said Rossi's attorney’s refused to except service, Jay’s attorneys had her served publicly.

It happened at the home of Peggy Tanous, the new Orange County cast member. Stars from Bravo's reality series got together at Tanous' home for a dinner, that was taped by the network.

"Gretchen pulled up in her car and as soon as she got out she was served with the legal papers," a source told RadarOnline.com. "She turned away and acted as if she was going to try to avoid being served. But there were two people there to serve her and she had no choice. She finally just accepted service."

During the episode, as Gretchen is probed on the whereabouts of current beau S lade Smiley, she says he’s “with his kids”. Arch-nemesis Tamra Barney remarks “  he's home either waxing is his eyebrows or plucking his ass hair “     Class act, that Tamra.

Speaking of Slade’s kids,  Gretchen wonders if Slade is paying Grayson Smiley’s medical bills as he has been telling her, instead of paying the $130,000 he owes Grayson’s mother, Michelle Arroyo, in child support.  This is obviously scripted, since Slade allegedly pays absolutely nothing.

Also missing from action: Jim Bellino, who reportedly doesn’t like the way he has been portrayed, and opted out.  Alexis Bellino is seen calling him, probably begging him to come to the dinner party, to no avail.

Gretchen Rossi’s Defamation Accusation Thrown Out; Slade Smiley Has “Reversal of Fortune”

Gretchen Rossi of the Real Housewives of Orange County lost a round in her lawsuit against ex-boyfriend Jay Photoglou in their never-ending battle over essentially nothing.  A very expensive nothing.

For starters, the defamation part is out.

"Yes!" Photoglou exclaimed as he left the courtroom and gave his attorney a hug. (No official comment was forthcoming, however.)

The judge struck down Rossi's claims of defamation, libel and portrayal in a false light after determining that her camp hadn't offered up enough evidence to prove Photoglou was lying about the two of them being in a romantic relationship while she was engaged to Jeff Beitzel, who died of cancer in 2008.

Rossi has already paid nearly $24,000 in legal fees for Photoglou, who sued her for defamation in January after her failed attempt to get a restraining order against him. (Her reason: She claims Photoglou threatened to kill her and boyfriend Slade Smiley.)

She's still allowed to pursue prior claims of assault, battery, stalking, breach of contract, conversion, intentional emotional distress, intentional interference with contractual relations and intentional interference with prospective economic relations for the time being.

"While we respect the Judges of the Orange County Superior Court, we believe that there are appropriate grounds for Appeal, and whether we pursue that avenue will depend upon a variety of factors," Rossi's attorney, Gregory G. Brown, said in a statement to E! News.

"We believe it is important to note that much of Ms. Rossi's complaint went unchallenged," he continued. "These eight primary claims will continue to be pursued aggressively.

"While we ordinarily do not discuss the details of ongoing litigation, we feel compelled to provide this complete picture of the current status of the case given Mr. Photoglou's ongoing internet and media communications which, to date, have been less than complete."

Part of the Judge’s Ruling:

Defendant Jay Photoglou’s Special Motion to Strike is granted in part and denied in part. Defendant Photoglou’s Special Motion to Strike is granted as to the 3rd cause of action for slander, 4th cause of action for defamation re: Libel and 5th cause of action for false light.  Defendant has met his initial burden showing the alleged false statements regarding defendant and plaintiff’s relationship and plaintiff’s engagement to Jeff Beitzel are protected speech subject to the protections of the anti-SLAPP statute.

In other Gretchen and Slade news, Slade has reportedly had his vasectomy reversed.  Could more little Slades and Sladettes be far behind?   Guess the relationship is serious, if Gretchen doesn’t wind up paying Jay again. If she loses this lawsuit, she’ll owe him another 50 grand.

“Both of these criminal reports were investigated by the Costa Mesa PD and both were flatly rejected for prosecution by the Orange County District Attorney.”

But Jay’s attempts to have Gretchen prosecuted for filing a false police report have also been rejected by authorities.

RadarOnline.com exclusively obtained a letter from the Costa Mesa Police Department to Photoglou informing him that the case would not be pursued.

According to the letter the Orange County DA’s office declined to prosecute Gretchen because “the allegations cannot be proved beyond a reasonable doubt.”

Jay, who sued Gretchen for slander and libel previously told RadarOnline.com, “My attorney wants to meet with the Orange County DA to provide further evidence regarding this matter.

“This past year Gretchen has wasted several tax payer dollars by filing false police reports against me wasting valuable time and resources of the Costa Mesa Police department.

“I believe she should be prosecuted for filing police reports that she knew were false at the time of her filing.”

Imagine if every man or woman filed charges against ex-lovers? We’d live in a tree-less world!  There is some serious mental illness going on with this guy.

Orange County Reunion: Who Let the Dogs Out?

What a dud.

The Season 5 reunion of the Real Housewives of Orange County was a snoozefest. Perhaps TPTB at Bravo are saving the good footage for one of those “Lost Footage” episodes they seem to trot out during a ratings slump, but who knows?

At least Andy Cohen called out Slade Smiley on some of his lies. Left the show after Season 2?  C’mon Slade, Jo left and you no longer had a place on the show. His friend  and Coto de Caza neighbor Scott Dunlop, executive producer of the franchise, gave him a show with Jo, Date My Ex, which was a complete flop. Didn’t really date Lauri Waring? The footage has been aired, and Vicki was there. Wasn’t it creepy that Lauri still has Slade’s text messages and phone calls? Can’t wait for those to come out. How soon will Gretchen wiggle out of her relationship with Slade?  She will succumb to the pressure all around her, I think.

Speaking of the timeline and Gretchen’s relationships, Jeff Beitzel died September 13, 2008, one week after Season 4 finished filming.  Jay Photoglou starts talking and blogging about Gretchen in January 2009.  After my posting announcing 'Gretchen ‘s participation on the show, people posted comments  about Gretchen and Jeff on my other website.   In January, Jay Photoglou announces he’s throwing a party for Gretchen.  The reunion episode takes place in February, 2009. In early March, Gretchen files her restraining order against Jay, Slade’s unregistered car is parked there, the Costa Mesa police run a make on the plate, so he is arrested for unpaid child support. They apparently got together around the time of the reunion, and Gretchen may have been doing some serious overlapping! Fast forward to Memorial Day weekend, when filming for Season 5 begins. Gretchen looked trapped in Slade’s lies. Kudos to Andy Cohen for calling Slade out!

Poor, beat up Vicki. Yeah, right.  Threatening not to return for season 6 because the others are “beating up” on her, something she would never do.  So comical, so typical Vicki. She has consistently beat up on every single housewife from day 1, season 1. Let’s not forget how she treated Gretchen Rossi last season. Thrown her husband, her ex-husband, Jeana Keough and every one else under the bus. Then denies it. Never owns it. Karma is a bitch. Hate Alexis Bellino , but glad she called Vicki out.  But Tamra is correct, Vicki doesn’t see herself at all.

We’ll see what happens during the off season. Looks like Jeana Keough is coming back, as she mentions filming when she talks about saving her home from foreclosure again.

In the meantime, on to the Big Apple

Steve, are any of these photos of Gretchen and the stalker dated?? Tamra Barney is jealously obsessed with Gretchen. Dig a little deeper into why Tamra's hubby doesn't work at the Mercedes dealership and that will be factual news. In the meantime, your article is all about fiction and that of an obviously jealous ex-boyfriend and Tamra Barney. Jeff said on tape which aired on Bravo that "Gretchen is what I need now" so who is anyone to say she used him. Possibly she stuck her nose up in the air when you approached her out recently and thus this nasty article comes out of it?? When someone beautiful, gracious and nice like Gretchen comes on the scene, daggers fly. Who's business is it anyway what she did or does? Tamra has quite a few skeletons in her closet. She viciously got this woman drunk and then sicked her disgusting son on her. Could Gretchen have stopped taking the shots?? Not the way I see it. She was already too drunk, at the hands of this witch Tamra, to know the difference. Ask the chef that was there doing the dinner. I agree with the "innocent lamb" remark. I also knew Jeff, not obviously as personally as some of the posters here. However, my husband worked for him for many years. He ran his company into the ground while he was running around chasing skirts! Jeff's sorted little life was like a soap opera among his work family. He was not envied, he was made a joke of. Many of us met his wives and girlfriends here in Michigan (and there were lots of them!). Jeff always had a woman with him. One never knew who the wife or lady of the day/hour would be. Why single out Gretchen? She was the only one obviously smart enough to capitalize on it. Wonder when some of the other women will start to come out of the woodwork. Maybe they have already anonymously done so here on this blog? From watching the show last night, sadly his life ended the same way he led it. Pitifully. Hard living catches up with you eventually! (Not say, though, that anyone deserves to be stricken with leukemia. Some of us, however, may take a diagnosis like as this as a reality check, not a reality show!)

Thanks for the insight. The only reason we're singling out Gretchen is because she's the one putting out a fictitious fairy-tale love story with a tragic ending casting herself as the Mother Teresa. I just saw the BRAVO video-extra where Gretchen was the aggressor sniping at Jeff's daughter Jill about laundry and getting a job while Jeff lay on the couch too exhausted to get up or intervene. For crying out loud, it's Jeff's money, the girl has a mother, and if she wants advice, she will ask for it. Let her move out and learn about reality on her own.
Don't bring her back for Season 5.

I've known Jeff long enough to know, he didn't look like himself in the show; Very underweight, extremely quiet, you can tell his illness has taken a toll on him. It's sad that he's being exploited... Yes, expolited. The man was terminally ill, I'm sure he was always drugged up, which is why he probably agreed to do this silly show in the first place.

Leave comments in the Orange County Register for the widest audience if you have personal knowledge that Gretchen's real story is not the one being shown on the TV screen. Richard Chang does a preview of every episode.
I hear that about Episode 3, viewers will be seeing Gretchen's dark side. Jekyll/Hyde Is she living with the car salesman? That's what I hear.

Wow, Gretchen and Jeff's story sounds like a TV show in itself. Only saw one episode of the show and I feel I know their whole sorted past by reading this and other blogs. I understand Jeff passed away, so what is the storyline going to be? Are we just going to watch him deteriorate before our eyes as the season progresses, while Gretchen completes her purple collection of jewels? If so, that is sick. Are we going to see the ex-husband and ex-wives weigh in? Hear there's also a boyfriend and an "east coast interest" involved. This stuff makes bitchy Vicki's yacht, Jeana's fading beauty, Laurie & her Babe, Tamara's botox obsession, etc. seem boring! No wonder they don't like Gretchen. She is stealing their thunder with her story.

Keep coming back to this blog because most of you seem to have inside knowledge. Has anyone read Gretchen's Bravo blog? I am confused. She talks about Jill, Jake and Lizzy (Jeff's kids). I thought he had four kids? Is there one that she doesn't get along with and refuses to acknowledge? Are these kids all from the same mother? Is she (or they, if more than one mother) involved with the kids? Why would a mother allow her chlldren to face humiliation and public scrutiny that this show invites? Thanks for any input. Just curious.

Upthread, someone said Jeff had three children with his third wife. I think the oldest is Jenny Jenny. Maybe the fourth (Lizzy) is a step.
My opinion is that Gretchen is fabricating the close relationship with Jeff's kids. She was not their MySpace friend when Jeff passed. Her mood was not depressed, sad or numb as one would expect.

I'm one of Chris Rossi's closest friends, and was actually a groomsman in his wedding to Gretchen. I'd like to clear the record about a few things. First, someone earlier in this thread implied that Chris cheated on Gretchen while they were married. That is just not true. I know Chris like a brother, and he never had and never would have done this, it's just not in his nature.
It broke his heart when he found out about Gretchen's first affair, with a neighbor. He spent that night on my couch, crying all night. Do you have any idea how painful that was for me to see my best friend break down like that?
It was no less painful for him when he found out about Jeff. I'm sorry that he passed away, but it isn't right to steal another man's wife. Granted she was willing and knew exactly what she was doing, but still it doesn't make it right.
I know you all are going to be very judgmental about Chris, you'll call him stupid and blind, but if you knew the first thing about Chris, you'd know that he never gives up on people. He really wanted his marriage to Gretchen to work, in the end it was her decision to divorce Chris so she could marry Jeff, who actually refused to marry her for quite a long time.
Chris is the most loyal friend I've ever had. I've had some difficulty in my own life, battled alchohol, watched my daughter pass away before her first birthday, and been through a painful divorce of my own. Through it all, Chris has been a loyal friend even when I haven't been a good friend to him. That's just the kind of person he is, and sadly for him, he stuck with Gretchen for way too long. In a way, he even still loves her.
I just wanted you to know these things about Chris before you insult him the way that you do.

You see, I was a friend of Jeff's fifth wife .. who he married for a second time four years ago in August 2008. Basically he dumped her 6 weeks into their marriage after he started traveling back and forth to California and looking at "real estate". He served her divorce papers on her birthday. Nice guy. I, too, witnessed firsthand a good friend and nice person go through a lot of pain due to lust, greed or whatever the explanation is. None of us could ever understand why, after 30 years, she continued to be amicable toward him. She even attended his funeral,and I am dumbfounded to believe that she had any tears left to shed over him. He was a cruel man. Basically he did the same thing to his other wives. When he was done, he was gone. Jeff always got what he set out to get, no matter what the expense or damage. I feel bad for Chris, and I hope you will pass this along to him and it may provide some comfort. He's not the only one that suffered in this path of destruction Gretchen and Jeff created.

The car salesman said Gretchen's story of an romance and engagement to Jeffrey was FAKE. Her real single swinging party-girl story did not fit the niche BRAVO was looking for, so she made up a better tear-jerker story to get on TV and convinced Jeff to go along with it. Jeff was only a friend and paying Gretchen to give him injections and take care of him. At least that's the gobbledygook she fed the boyfriend. Who's the liar?

I say go for it. You as family members have every right to tell your side of the story and balance out the facade that is being shown on the TV. But don't lambast other family members of other cast when they do the same!

When that car salesman got dumped, he called people who were not housewives to vent on Gretchen. One of those people tipped me off. I checked out his myspace and saw a boatload of pictures backing up his claim that he was dating Gretchen in the first half of 2008.
Look at these posts on TWOP and in the OC Register that have his angry tire prints all over them. Curious, the negative Gretchen posts from justice stopped the day she became the car saleman's top MySpace friend. Blackmail perhaps?

And you will see it with her "Now, I am the hottest housewife in O.C." attitude (toward Tamara) which is mentioned several times as well as a "Just because I'm the new girl... Slade Smiley did try to get a spot on season 4 through Gretchen Rossi. Slade is the one who went to bravo through Katie McIntosh to get Gretchen on the show. after getting Gretchen on the show, Slade put it to Gretchen that he and her should date on the show to create controversy. This was per Slade done through the urging of Scott Dunlop. NOW after months of rejection by Gretchen Rossi, Slade is putting his friends on Gretchen. It is my understanding Gretchen has now met and willing to meet Slades friends but not Slade due to her friendship with Jo. Gretchen has said this is only for the storyline for Season 5...

Gretchen I'm learning has been a busy girl. The story for the show is, she has been dating Jeff for 2 years BUT that doesn't make sense. Gretchen and Chris filed for divorce in July 2007? Gretchen is known to have slept with 2 co-workers in the Real estate industry from 2005 - 2006 Had a relationship with someone with last name Caine from July 2007 to Jan 2008. Then one someone with the last name of Photoglou from Jan 2008 till Sept 2008. Even attending the sex and the city party in a Limo with Photoglou in early June with no ring on. They where at one point with all the other Housewives and their husbands. This should be interesting to see how they edit all of this to make sense with the facts that are public record.

I do know that Jake has been filmed for the show. Whether it shows on air or not I do not. Also he has removed the picture described in this article from his myspace page. Pretty sure the relationship between Gretchen and Jake is strained.

She didn't quit working to "take care" of Jeff full time ... she quit working to "live off of" Jeff full time! Unfortunately, now that he's gone, she can find someone closer to her own age to "live off of" full time!

Why is this Gretchen Rossi even going on this show? She's anything but a housewife. I'm guessing so she can meet more wealthy men through being on the show, now that her financial "care taker" has since passed. She obviously has no morals to speak of... If she did, she wouldn't be using her dead boyfreind as a way to get on this show, that she clearly doesn't belong on. Wonder how many "casting couches" she laid on, to get here.

I'm betting the other comment, where someone said the real ex wife's of Mr. Beitzel, could set us straight on this Gretchen.... I bet there's a story in itself there and much more interesting.

Well, she had access to money when her then boyfriend was alive. Read the Oprah interview, when asked if she worked, she said "no." What a funny statement for Gretchen to say "wondering about the pitfalls of having an instant family, especially while Jeff is recovering." I think all that bleach has effected her! His children are grown, and in college & they live in Michigan with their Mother.... What pitfalls are there??? His oldest daughter is only 8 years younger than Gretchen.

That's what I hear on the Internet grapevine. I'm going to hold my fire until I see Gretchen's story on the TV screen. Let's see what spin BRAVO puts on it.
Probably another one season housewife. She appears to have nothing in common with the other housewives in life-stage or geography. She's closer in age to their kids.
As for Gretchen's finances, maybe she's pawning some of Jeffrey's gift and that ginormous engagement ring.

Rumor has it that the "ginormous" engagement ring is a fake that was purchased as a prop for the show. Wonder why she's even wearing an engagement ring (real or not) if she wasn't "physically attracted to Jeffrey" because he wasn't "her type". Guess his money WAS her type!

Does anyone know if she's even actually divorced from her real husband, Chris Rossi yet? The newspaper said they filed last July, but never said if they went through with it. Makes you wonder, what kind of person he is, to have basically "leased" Gretchen out for the mass majority of their marriage. I'm guessing he also profited from Gretchen spending her marriage to Chris with Jeffrey Beitzel. Tells you a lot about this messed up group of people.

It looked like Gretchen was wearing the ring on Oprah.
Has Gretchen actually SOLD any real estate? The only listing I found for her was the Overlook property and that house was owned by one of Jeffrey's companies.

The only property that she ever sold was to Jeffrey Beitel, that's how they met.... Then the next piece of property she ever sold,was when Mr. Beitzel sold the house she sold him. This would be the Overlook property, that she "claimed" was HER house. She couldn't afford to rent a saftey deposit box in that zip code.... Unless of course some man old enough to be her Dad was paying for it.

I happen to be Jeff's sister and although I knew the kind of relationship they had -- he seeking the "Malibu Barbie" armpiece & her seeking $$$$$ and someone to take care of her, her flaunting & lack of concern for him shown in this article only confirms her insincerety. I'm just glad he wasn't able to see how superficial this relationship was. At Christmas when he first found out about his illness & limited chance of survival, he had no intentions of marrying her or anyone else. She was his West Coast armpiece whom he managed to keep seperate from his interest in the east. I'm glad she was with him when he died only because he wouldn't allow anyone else to see him in such grave condition. At least he wasn't alone at the end, although I know he spent many lonely hours in his hospital room. In the 3 or 4 years he dated her, his mother & I were never introduced to her. Unforunately he was never smart enough to appreciate a good wife when he had one.

Judy my condolences to you and your family. I knew Jeff and I knew in some sense all of his wives except #1. I can assure you that #2 through #5 were not gold diggers! To even consider grouping his wives with that narcissistic, shallow, self serving, self absorbed, vacant (in every sense of the word) wannabe reality actress is not only wrong but insulting on every level: Wife #2 and #5 who loved and married him when he was poor! Yes, he was poor at one time. There was no gold to dig then! Wife #3: The mother of his THREE children not Four as it is has been reported. Wife #3 also married him before his millions..again no gold. Wife #4: Although Jeff was on his way to the millions, she helped in the role of step mother and was more intrested in that role than the role of pampered princess. NOW, let's talk about Gretchy...When Jeff was first feeling ill, he actually was in a relationship with wife #5. Wives #3 & 4 were aware of this. In fact, all of those women talk and actually get along with each other. Wife #5 was taking care of him, drove him to the hospital and was making arrangements with the hospital staff. Jeff was in the hospital for a week before Gretchy could find dog sitters for her precious pups. Upon arriving and finding out much to her amazement that Jeff was not as dumb as she thought and knew exactly why she was with him she completely FREAKED OUT! It was quite the scene with all of his ex's and children witnessing... She promptly demanded that she be the center of attention and threatened Jeff. At the time, many people were hurt to find out that Jeff would be receiving treatment in CA when U of M was literally down the street and is very well respected hospital with a leading cancer treatment center. His kids were floored. His ex wives especially the mother of his children were shocked consdiering the treatment would be so intense and CA is so far and it would be difficult for the kids to see their father. I remember sitting around talking about WHY would Jeff do this. A few months later it became clear...The Real Housewives of Orange County. Gretchen didn't give a shit about Jeff it came down to her ruining her wannabe acting career. Now, I will admit that I have not met Gretchen. She clearly was not someone Jeff cared to introduce to people here in Michigan, and there are many of us. I was stunned to hear at the eulogy that Gretchen had been with Jeff for four years. I think the woman he was still married to four years ago was stunned as well. So, although Jeff lived his life to the fullest and I mean that in every sense...he made some really bad choices. Ultimately, he hurt himself and people (wives, ex wives, children, sisters, friends) he would give you the shirt off his back, he was generally a good natured person. I am with Judy Fike that I am glad Jeff can't witness the circus that Gretchen Rossi has created at the end of his illness and now in his death. She is still gold digging through his death. She doesn't need to worrry about casting for season 5..she will get a spin off "The Real GOLD DIGGERS of Orange County" starring just her!

I hear the production crew also hates her and that is not a good thing. They have the power to put out the most EMBARRASSING footage shot of Gretchen and edit it to make her look like a complete fool.

This is a full month before season 4 started!
