Well. Turns out Simon Barney is more of a control-freak douchebag than many fans of The Real Housewives of Orange County thought.
The husband of Tamra Barney, in a dramatic gesture, filed for divorce last Wednesday, three days after Tamra moved out of their Ladera Ranch short sale in escrow home into a two bedroom apartment.
This was clearly a last-ditch effort to regain control. If it doesn’t work on her, expect a bloodbath divorce, with Simon going for custody of their three minor children.
How will her employer, Bravo TV, spin this?
Assuming there will be a sixth season of the OC Housewives, and Tamra will be asked back, we could be treated to an entertaining, interesting story line. Recalling the very similar Lauri Waring storyline from Season 1, this story of a housewife out in the world on her own is what hooked the viewers initially.
Her relationship with Gretchen Rossi? It seems she was mostly doing Simon’s bidding in the mean girl without a cause Season 4 role she played, at the prompting of Jay Photoglou, who had bonded with Simon in the defaming of Gretchen. Despite what radar online speculated about the relationship between the two women yesterday, maybe they will be able to forge a friendship. RadarOnline gets most of it’s information, including all those racy photos of Gretchen, from Jay.
Speaking of Jay, the email entitled “Your BS and Lies” was sent to me and several others by Jay. Note the date, this refers to the “"Vegas Baby" episode last season:

Whateva, Simon. The marriage has been in trouble for a while.
Tamra will have struggles, but she may also gain some self-esteem. Hope she doesn’t have to pay Simon support, as he whines and bitches. Please get him off my TV screen.
