I agree with the "innocent lamb" remark. I also knew Jeff, not obviously as personally as some of the posters here. However, my husband worked for him for many years. He ran his company into the ground while he was running around chasing skirts! Jeff's sorted little life was like a soap opera among his work family. He was not envied, he was made a joke of. Many of us met his wives and girlfriends here in Michigan (and there were lots of them!). Jeff always had a woman with him. One never knew who the wife or lady of the day/hour would be. Why single out Gretchen? She was the only one obviously smart enough to capitalize on it. Wonder when some of the other women will start to come out of the woodwork. Maybe they have already anonymously done so here on this blog? From watching the show last night, sadly his life ended the same way he led it. Pitifully. Hard living catches up with you eventually! (Not say, though, that anyone deserves to be stricken with leukemia. Some of us, however, may take a diagnosis like as this as a reality check, not a reality show!)
Thanks for the insight. The only reason we're singling out Gretchen is because she's the one putting out a fictitious fairy-tale love story with a tragic ending casting herself as the Mother Teresa. I just saw the BRAVO video-extra where Gretchen was the aggressor sniping at Jeff's daughter Jill about laundry and getting a job while Jeff lay on the couch too exhausted to get up or intervene. For crying out loud, it's Jeff's money, the girl has a mother, and if she wants advice, she will ask for it. Let her move out and learn about reality on her own.

Yes, Jeff's life was a true soap opera.... Better than any writers could ever come up with.It's sad that he never learned from all of his mistakes with women; Women were his down fall. I've known Jeff long enough to know, he didn't look like himself in the show; Very underweight, extremely quiet, you can tell his illness has taken a toll on him. It's sad that he's being exploited... Yes, expolited. The man was terminally ill, I'm sure he was always drugged up, which is why he probably agreed to do this silly show in the first place.

Wow, Gretchen and Jeff's story sounds like a TV show in itself. Only saw one episode of the show and I feel I know their whole sorted past by reading this and other blogs. I understand Jeff passed away, so what is the storyline going to be? Are we just going to watch him deteriorate before our eyes as the season progresses, while Gretchen completes her purple collection of jewels? If so, that is sick. Are we going to see the ex-husband and ex-wives weigh in? Hear there's also a boyfriend and an "east coast interest" involved. I saw Gretchen with the car salesman last week. Say what you want about gold digging. I call it a scam because Gretchen had a boyfriend on the side. She is NOT a role model or someone to be admired.
i saw her at a restuarant in O.C. with someone other than car salesman too. It wasn't promotional and it wasn't a business meeting. They were getting cozy at the end and they left together. Looks like the car salesman's fiftenn minutes are up.
Keep coming back to this blog because most of you seem to have inside knowledge. Has anyone read Gretchen's Bravo blog? I am confused. She talks about Jill, Jake and Lizzy (Jeff's kids). I thought he had four kids? Is there one that she doesn't get along with and refuses to acknowledge? Are these kids all from the same mother? Is she (or they, if more than one mother) involved with the kids? Why would a mother allow her chlldren to face humiliation and public scrutiny that this show invites? Thanks for any input. My opinion is that Gretchen is fabricating the close relationship with Jeff's kids. She was not their MySpace friend when Jeff passed. Her mood was not depressed, sad or numb as one would expect.
I'm one of Chris Rossi's closest friends, and was actually a groomsman in his wedding to Gretchen. I'd like to clear the record about a few things. First, someone earlier in this thread implied that Chris cheated on Gretchen while they were married. That is just not true. I know Chris like a brother, and he never had and never would have done this, it's just not in his nature.
It broke his heart when he found out about Gretchen's first affair, with a neighbor. He spent that night on my couch, crying all night. Do you have any idea how painful that was for me to see my best friend break down like that?
It was no less painful for him when he found out about Jeff. I'm sorry that he passed away, but it isn't right to steal another man's wife. Granted she was willing and knew exactly what she was doing, but still it doesn't make it right.
I know you all are going to be very judgmental about Chris, you'll call him stupid and blind, but if you knew the first thing about Chris, you'd know that he never gives up on people. He really wanted his marriage to Gretchen to work, in the end it was her decision to divorce Chris so she could marry Jeff, who actually refused to marry her for quite a long time.
Chris is the most loyal friend I've ever had. I've had some difficulty in my own life, battled alchohol, watched my daughter pass away before her first birthday, and been through a painful divorce of my own. Through it all, Chris has been a loyal friend even when I haven't been a good friend to him. That's just the kind of person he is, and sadly for him, he stuck with Gretchen for way too long. In a way, he even still loves her.
I just wanted you to know these things about Chris before you insult him the way that you do.
Thank you Chris's friend. I totally understand the pain you feel for a friend that is hurting. In a way we have something in common. You see, I was a friend of Jeff's fifth wife .. who he married for a second time four years ago in August 2008. Basically he dumped her 6 weeks into their marriage after he started traveling back and forth to California and looking at "real estate". He served her divorce papers on her birthday. Nice guy. I, too, witnessed firsthand a good friend and nice person go through a lot of pain due to lust, greed or whatever the explanation is. None of us could ever understand why, after 30 years, she continued to be amicable toward him. She even attended his funeral,and I am dumbfounded to believe that she had any tears left to shed over him. He was a cruel man. Basically he did the same thing to his other wives. When he was done, he was gone. Jeff always got what he set out to get, no matter what the expense or damage. I feel bad for Chris, and I hope you will pass this along to him and it may provide some comfort. He's not the only one that suffered in this path of destruction Gretchen and Jeff created.

The car salesman said Gretchen's story of an romance and engagement to Jeffrey was FAKE. Slade Smiley did try to get a spot on season 4 through Gretchen Rossi. Slade is the one who went to bravo through Katie McIntosh to get Gretchen on the show. after getting Gretchen on the show, Slade put it to Gretchen that he and her should date on the show to create controversy. This was per Slade done through the urging of Scott Dunlop. NOW after months of rejection by Gretchen Rossi, Slade is putting his friends on Gretchen. It is my understanding Gretchen has now met and willing to meet Slades friends but not Slade due to her friendship with Jo. Gretchen has said this is only for the storyline for Season 5...

Gretchen I'm learning has been a busy girl. The story for the show is, she has been dating Jeff for 2 years BUT that doesn't make sense. Gretchen and Chris filed for divorce in July 2007? Gretchen is known to have slept with 2 co-workers in the Real estate industry from 2005 - 2006 Had a relationship with someone with last name Caine from July 2007 to Jan 2008. Then one someone with the last name of Photoglou from Jan 2008 till Sept 2008. Even attending the sex and the city party in a Limo with Photoglou in early June with no ring on. They where at one point with all the other Housewives and their husbands. This should be interesting to see how they edit all of this to make sense with the facts that are public record.

Just to set the record straight Gretchen never asked to be on a TV show. Bravo TV did contact Slade looking for a couple to replace him and Jo. Slade has had a long standing relationship with Gretchen and thought she and her fiance would be perfect. She was not sure it was what she wanted to do but, Jeff was for it so she said O.K. Despite the rumors of Slade and Gretchen being more than just friends, I believe they are just that..Friends although they would make a super hot couple. I hope they hook up and bring Slade back on the show...

Is this show even real or is it staged? In tonight's episode, which showed Gretchen in Texas having dinner with her old college friends, if you watch carefully in most of the scenes her hair is parted on the right, but in two of the shots her hair is magically parted on the opposite side. A very obvious mistake. Those two shots at the same dinner party had to be shot at a different time.
I say get a life please! I love reality TV so I'm also a culprit but instead of living through "real" people on Tv why don't we all live our own lives. What's wrong with Gretchen? If it is true, she is beyond disgusting, a total fraud!!

OH please. Everything on the show is made up. That is why it is called a tv show. Every time they get a new girl, they need to initiate her. The writers make her out to be some bitch or some slut or some idiot or some gold digger. In a year or two when a new girl comes on everyone will start to love Gretchen. Just like when Tamra was the new girl...remember? Anyways...Gretchen is adorable. Everyone screws up sometimes, and it is not anyone's place to judge another persons decisions, and if you do not know that, you are not as intelligent as you think you are.

I feel sorry 4 her is she has to sleep around to get material things to make her happy....but at the end she will never have a realfriend or love....and at the end she will be alone....

Dear Chris's friend, could you be more full of sh!t? Chris did cheat on Gretchen with several people including the nasty ass neighbor whore who he was banging in there bed. I live next door you tool and I know the truth. Trust me, I am not a Gretchen fan, we have had our own issues but Chris caused that break up cause he couldn't keep his pecker in his pants. The whole neighbor hood knows so nice try!
